SPORTS INJURY MASSAGE

What is Sports Injury Massage?
Sports injury massage is a massage technique that’s mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle and tissue. It may also promote faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.

Benefits of Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage offers both physical and psychological benefits. Unlike other massage techniques that focus on relaxation, sports injury massage helps to treat muscle pain, improve stiffness and range of movement.

Sports Injury massage also helps with:
-
Strains
-
Low back pain
-
Upper back, neck and shoulder tension
-
Improved performance
-
Post event recovery
Why choose Blackheath Physiotherapy & Pilates for your deep tissue massage?

"I have been using deep tissue massage to treat patients for over ten years, and I’ve undertaken additional training on a range of soft tissue release techniques. This experience, combined with my diploma in sports and remedial massage, has helped me gain very effective results from sports massage only sessions.

Each of my massage sessions are tailored to the clients own individual needs and will target problem areas. Within these bespoke sessions I may utilise traditional massage techniques, trigger point release therapy, myofascial release and/or soft tissue release through movement; this suite of techniques allows me to maximise results for each individual.

Many of the muscular issues which are relieved by massage can also have a deeper under lying cause. My clinical background in Physiotherapy allows me to identify the underlying causes of tension and stress in the body, and tailor treatment around what your body needs to heal, repair and recover. "
